For 1970 to 1974 Porsche 914s and 914-6s, and later 914s that were retrofitted to the 70-74 bumpers.
Made in hand-laid fiberglass.
Parts are bolt-on replacements, requiring no modifications to the car.
Molded in black gelcoat, primered & painted in matt black paint. Many customers use our parts as-is, while some paint to match body color for a smoother, monochromatic look.
Includes specially molded mounting features with threaded, insert-molded fasteners and stainless steel bolts. Fastener material chosen for strength and corrossion resistance.
Costs much less than original replacement parts. Superior surface smoothness and dimensional stability compared to original parts.
Fiberglass parts are much more resistant to moisture, corrosion, and the sun's ultraviolet light compared to the original rubber pads.
Together, both parts weigh about 4 pounds less than the original bumper pads.
The original 70'-74' bumper pads pre-dated government 5mph bumper standards. They could withstand minor (2.5mph) bumps in a parking lot without damage. Our product would be expected to fair as well as the 914-6 GT and 916 one-piece molded fiberglass facias for the front and rear, which might receive minor cracks from low speed parking lot impacts, but are repairable.
Examples of these parts have been in use on 914s since 1996.
